Governor DeWine, Ohio Department of Health, and the Ohio High School Athletic Association released guidelines and regulations around the return of school athletics. We have provided a link to the entire document for you to read below. In the document, there are many things schools will need to do to ensure a safe experience for our students and our fans. One of the biggest changes centers around the maximum capacity for our games (15% of existing grandstands). Obviously, this presents a challenge for all schools. Simply put, there will not be many people attending our athletic events this fall. Consequently, we are only distributing two tickets per participant to the football scrimmage this evening. Those tickets have been distributed to participants for tonight's game. We will be streaming tonight’s scrimmage as well as other sporting contests throughout the fall.
COMMUNICATION FROM THE PREBLE SHAWNEE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT
Preble Shawnee is extremely excited that our student athletes have been permitted to play this fall. This year will be unlike anything that any of us have been through. It is important for all to remember that these rules must be followed strictly, per the Governor’s order, to be able to host and participate in any athletic event this fall. Preble Shawnee cannot guarantee that athletics will not be shut down by the state at any point throughout the season. It is for this reason that we ask all spectators to respect and strictly follow these REQUIRED RULES so that we do not give the State any reason to shut us down and take away the opportunity for our kids to compete. Please remember that we are doing this for the kids. We appreciate your continued support and understanding through these difficult times and as always… GO ARROWS!
The athletic department will not be selling or accepting any passes this year. This includes SWBL, school, and lifetime passes. Admission to all events will be done by purchasing a single game ticket. There will be no general admission tickets sold to any events.
Pre-Event Self Symptom Assessment
All coaches, spectators and event staff must conduct a symptom self-check prior to attending any athletic event. Anyone experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms as listed by the CDC are asked to stay at home.
The Governor’s order has set limitations on how many are able to attend our sporting events. Preble Shawnee is only permitted to allow 15% of our total seating capacity at each venue. The SWBL has agreed on ticket allotments for each school to admit athlete’s families. A set number of tickets may be purchased by each athlete for both home and away events. This number will fluctuate depending on the opponent, venue and sport. These tickets are to be used by the families of athletes.
The Governor’s order has required each school to strongly enforce the 6 ft social distancing policy. The order asks for all seats to be marked indicating where families are able to sit. These seating locations are marked with an X. Please sit directly on the tape. Families must sit together. Due to these restrictions, student sections have been banned by the State.
Per the Governor’s order, you are required to wear a cloth mask while attending any of our venues.
We ask that all fans avoid congregating before, during and after the game. Spectators should leave the facility immediately following the conclusion of the game.
All Preble Shawnee events will be live streamed for fans not able to attend the games. The link and location of that stream will be shared via social media by the start of each game.
